Court Square in downtown Greenfield on a clear November afternoon. A small triangular town square paved in granite-curbed concrete with a low fountain at the center, the brownstone-and-granite Franklin County Courthouse rising on the far side with its tall central tower and slate roof, a row of 19th-century three-story brick commercial buildings (including the block holding the People's Pint a short walk down Federal Street) facing the square on the right, bare-branched mature trees ringing the open ground, and a clear pale blue sky overhead.

The People’s Pint opened on Federal Street in downtown Greenfield in 1997 and has run as a small brewpub ever since. The kitchen serves pub fare (burgers, sandwiches, salads, and seasonal plates) built around produce and meats from local New England farms; the restaurant is a longstanding CISA Local Hero and has carried that emphasis on local sourcing since opening.

The house beer list is brewed by The People’s Pint and rotates through ales, lagers, and seasonals alongside a few year-round staples. The dining room is small and lived-in, with wooden tables, a pressed tin ceiling, and well-worn booths. There are no televisions at the bar, which keeps the room conversational.

Visiting

The Pint serves dinner Monday through Thursday and lunch and dinner Friday and Saturday; it is closed Sundays. Hours can shift seasonally, so the official site is the best reference. Federal Street has metered on-street parking, and the Olive Street and Court Square lots are a short walk away.
